Naruto is a young ninja who dreamed to be a great Hokage. Hokage is also known as the Village Leader of their place called Konoha.

The creator of Naruto made the character as simple and a little bit stupid. It’s unlikely for a main character but it was accepted by different followers of this anime/manga.
